PARIS SHOWROOM OPENING

January the 18th, Paris, rue du Bac 19

In a beautiful setting in the heart of the Parisian neighborhood of Saint-Germain-des-Près, where upscale contemporary furniture and lighting has always enjoyed a special niche, Nemo has taken the next step in its international development with the opening of their first showroom in France.

This new Art Deco inspired gallery was designed by the well-known interior designer Charles Kalpakian. From the outside the two large exterior show windows define the essential character of the Nemo brand. On each side lighting installations capture the special identity of this new space which is both informative and professional. On the inside the architect imagined three distinct smaller spaces distributed on a single level. At the entrance, a sensible selection of novelties and iconic models captures the Nemo brand philosophy and immediately highlights what NEMO can bring to any lighting design. Professional Nemo products intended for both indoor and outdoor use are prominently displayed in the two remaining spaces.

The entire interior display area is given rhythm with vertical panels exploiting the use of both transparency and color. Panels colored in half tints were specially designed to provide a more dramatic showplace for Nemo’s own wall lamps. In addition, sliding main entrances combines transparency and opacity to create a welcome area organized around a table of Le Corbusier fixtures.

Charles Kalpakian has designed a colorful indoor garden which livens up the rear of the showroom with its illuminated la Grande Borne concrete. A floor of terrazzo set by blue glass and marble complements perfectly the bright pink and blue sea scenes which decorate the walls. The luminous display area is designed to capture the effect of the hall in a Parisian apartment from the doors to the indoor garden area. The rhythm of this new showroom is provided by both the color and texture revealed elegantly illuminated by an artfully curated collection of NEMO lamps.
