A PROJECT BETWEEN DESIGN AND IMAGINATION

On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2025, Nemo Lighting unveiled 20000, a new installation concept designed by Alon Rotman for the Nemo Showroom MONFORTE. The installation explored the interaction between light and water through a unique artistic and technological approach, recreating optical and perceptual phenomena artificially.

Inspired by Jules Verne’s Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and the famous Captain Nemo, who explores an underwater world poised between wonder and darkness, the installation offers a fluid and changing journey through animations, sculptural elements, and lighting fixtures, fostering the discovery of the deep connection between physics, perception, design, and storytelling. Water becomes a lens through which to observe the relationship between light and space, opening up new perspectives on the light and lamps on display.
